Members of the Greater Living and Howard County General Palliative Medicine teams include:

  • Palliative Medicine Physicians with expertise in treatment options for pain and other symptoms and knowledge of how each will impact a patient’s medical condition and quality of life and further or hinder goals of care
  • Nurse practitioners with specialized knowledge and training in the care of patients with serious and/or advanced illness who can provide treatment recommendations for symptom management, support the patient and family support, and facilitate discussions regarding goals of care
  • Social Workers with extensive experience in providing social and emotional support of patients and families as they move through the various stages of illness and who can assist patients and families with navigating the complex health care system
  • Chaplains who can provide spiritual support for patients and families facing serious illness

All members of the Palliative Care team work collaboratively with the patient’s current medical team to ensure seamless care. The Palliative Care team offers an extra layer of support, education and care.
